HAPPY DUE DATE!

Today was a brilliant day. Yesterday I was starting to feel a bit low, because the babies I know due around this time have started coming and there's still no sign of Blue and I was beginning to feel a little bored of playing the waiting game...but my Grandma and my mum wisely said I must ENJOY being bored and embrace this time without baby...because I'm not going to get this time back that's for sure! 

But today was just great...one of those days that made me feel really blessed for having a wonderful family and wonderful friends...

1. Starting the day with my home made banana loaf and a glass of milk...delicious!

2. Arriving at my mums to find a beautifully wrapped present from her fabulous friend Christina!

3. Opening the gift to find a really rather gorgeous blanket for Blue - which Christina had made with her own fair hands! It had started as a small blankie for the moses basket and ended up a lot bigger! I LOVE IT! Feeling happy,  my beautiful mum and I then headed out for a walk around Tunbridge Wells and a delicious caramel latte in Costa (her FAVOURITE place!) and a good old natter!

4. Arrived at Juliets (fave place to hang... delicious food, great decor and fab atmosphere!) to meet my friends Jo and Sax and got handed ANOTHER present! This time celebrating my due date!

5/6. The present - a totally gorgeous anchor dribble bib! Quite clearly doesn't suit me but will suit Blue totally! Thank you Sax - I'm SO touched and JJ and I love it SO very much!

7. Mother and son...Lukey usually likes to run about and doesn't often sit still but today he was PERFECT and sat on Jo's knee saying all the words he had learnt! SO ADORABLE!

8. My "Happy Due Date" card - I wonder if someone will bake me one of those when Blue arrives? I kinda hope not!

9. Another beautiful blonde...my bezzie Miss Lucy Saxton!

10. After a delicious lunch I headed to see my friend Hainy and her lovely son Hector for hot chocolate...their cat Nando loves my bump so much...he seems to sense the baby and likes to come and literally cuddle the bump and stare at me!

Some things don't change...

So I told my Dad about the Christmas present I had bought for Blue, and he suddenly said he had just retrieved the very same London book from my Lovely Grandmas house last weekend! It's from 1960 and although the dust cover is a little worn it's in perfect condition! It made me so very happy to think of my mother reading it all those years ago and now we will be reading it to Blue! Lovely also to think how some things just dont change...

All I want for Christmas...*

I've been thinking for a while about what to get my (unborn!) baby for Christmas...and it finally came to me...these gorgeous children's books by M.Sasek guide you around the city in the most beautiful way with the most beautiful illustrations...and what's more perfect than JJ's and my favourite cities...NYC and LDN...we plan to write in each so Blue can keep them forever...

*all I actually want for Christmas is a healthy bouncing baby...let's hope Santa brings this...

You + Me = Blue

So Ive got less than 2 weeks to go to my due date and am feeling VERY tired, VERY large and Blue* is kicking SO much its driving me crazy! But everytime he/she kicks or moves (or body pops!) i just have this overwhelming feeling of love, and I absolutely cannot wait for the moment I go into labour and JJ and I will meet it for the very first time...

 My thoughts for the day (so far...)

• Cant wait to get back into my skinny jeans. Everytime I see someone in them I get jealous! • Cant wait to meet the baby (boy or girl? we will know soon enough!) and what will it look like? • When youre told to relax and do NOTHING its very very hard to especially when it seems theres a million and one things to do • Life without seeing my work friends is hard but not seeing them every single day makes me appreciate them even more...

*Blue is the nickname we have given the baby as when we first found out we were pregnant, the app we had told us the baby was the size of a blueberry!

Smile...and the world smiles with you

I love it when you see something and it just makes you smile...at work when you're having a bad day and something so ordinary just makes you laugh and forget about your worries just for a moment...

Getting BIGGER every day

 

My tummy is getting so big now I can only just see my feet! It's amazing to think there's a tiny 4lb baby in my tummy, and every time it kicks me (which is so often and really starting to hurt!) I feel both elated and apprehensive...that although I get to meet him/her (and I am soooo desperate to!) I also have to get it out somehow!!! Still women do it every day so it can't be that bad...can it?

The Story Of Kitty & JJ

...this wonderful poem was written by 2 of the dearest people in my life* and shows our love story which I have had printed as our wedding celebration thank you card. The poem sums it up perfectly and was read out when we renewed our vows ...you see JJ and I eloped after getting engaged last Christmas Eve. We married in NYC in January and we celebrated with all our friends and family a few weekends back in what was the most wonderful and perfect day for us...we managed to get married just the way we wanted (just US in the US!) and then celebrated with a wonderful ceremony in front of all the people we love...when we married we didnt expect YOU + ME to equal THREE quite so soon but our baby is currently in my tummy and we are due to meet him/her in less that 6 weeks time! What an amazing year its been!

*Lucy & Lizzie this poem makes me feel so happy every time i read it. It will stay in my heart forever and means so much that you took the time to write something so special for us. I love you both more than you know.
